Romania risks losing EUR 10 bln in 2010 in renewable energy projects

Romania will lose EUR 10 bln in 2010, if it fails to complete and adopt the enforcement norms of the Law that promotes renewable energy. The warning was issued during the Energy Forum 2010, by the chairman of the Chamber of Deputies’ Committee for Industry and Services, Iulian Iancu. “If we don’t complete and pass the enforcement norms of the Law that promotes renewable energy, Romania will lose EUR 10 bln in 2010. This is the sum we could attract this year through renewable energy projects,” Iulian Iancu explained, quoted by Agerpres. According to the same source, there are projects that were cleared to supply energy to the national power grid, but things cannot move forward until authorities adopt the Law of public-private partnership and the enforcement norms of the Law on the use of renewable energy.
