15,000 applications for “Green Home”

The “Green Home” programme for individuals has received, so far, almost 15,000 applications, amounting to over RON 87 M, Agerpres reports. Attending the opening of the Renewable Energy Fair, Cristian Apostol, state secretary in the Ministry of the Environment and Forests, stated the Romania was making efforts to invest in the renewable energy sector, although the amounts invested are moderate. The first stage of the 2010 “Green Home” programme for individuals started on July 1, 2010, being allotted RON 110 M out of the Environment Fund. The “Green Home” programme consists in the allotment of fixed amounts, out of the Environment Fund, depending on the type of heating appliance that the beneficiary opted for, as follows: up to RON 6,000 for the set-up of solar panels, up to RON 8,000 for the set-up of heating pumps, and up to RON 6,000 for heating installations relying on the use of pellets, briquettes, sawdust, as well any kind of vegetal, agricultural or wood waste.
