False bomb alert at Obor subway

A false bomb alert was announced, yesterday morning, in the Obor subway area, blocking pedestrian traffic. A man called around 8.30 am the 112 service, to launch a bomb alert, according to the spokes­man for the Bucharest Police, Chris­tian Ciocan. After several pyrotechnical teams were dispatched to the scene, the bomb alert turned out to be false, Ciocan stated. “The man who made this announcement is liable to a fine or an up to 15 years’ prison sentence, if the announcement is proved to have had a terrorist intent,” Ciocan added.
