After a spectacular performance that showcased several near misses, Steaua and CFR finished their leg 17 game in a tie, score 2-2. Culio opened the score in the 10th minute but Bogdan Stancu’s double (27th and 50th minutes) put Steaua in the lead. Peralta equalized in the 82nd minute. CFR could have sealed the game in stoppage time but Traore failed to score from an incredible position. In the 91st minute Traore entered the box and found himself in a one-on-one situation but Steaua’s goalie parried his shot. The result leaves the two teams, both seeking to win the title, far behind League leaders Otelul. Steaua is 6th, 10 points behind the leader, while CFR is 8th, 12 points behind Otelul.
