President Sarkozy sends letter of congratulation on Romanian National Day

French President Nicolas Sarkozy has sent to the Romanian President Traian Basescu a letter of congratulation on the occasion of the upcoming National Day where he notes that ‘France wishes to keep a close co-operation with Romania,’ RFI reports.

In his message, the French president reminds that Paris and Bucharest are tied by close and long-standing relations of friendship and co-operation. Nicolas Sarkozy also mentions the strategic partnership between Romania and France, which he describes as meant to raise the level of political and economic co-operation, according to the quoted source.

In the end of his letter, the French President expresses his satisfaction for the common position taken by the two states in numerous European dossiers and speaks of the shared ambition to overcome the economic crisis by strengthening economic governance on the continent.

‘France wishes to keep a close co-operation with Romania,’ Nicolas Sarkozy also states in his letter of congratulation to Traian Basescu on the upcoming National Day of Romania celebrated on December 1, RFI informs.
