BNR forex reserves hit new record level in November

The forex reserves held by the National Bank of Romania (BNR) in November rose by EUR 491 M compared to October, to a record total of EUR 32.8 bln, with the Finance Ministry having conducted an issuing worth EUR 1.3 bln, according to the central Bank, Mediafax reports. Entries totalling EUR 2.615 bln were recorded in November, representing Finance Ministry accounts’ feeds, modification of minimum requirements applicable to lenders, feedings of the European Commission account, income from the management of international reserves and so forth. The previous record of BNR FX reserves, of EUR 32.579 bln, had been recorded in September, after the disbursement of the loan instalment from the IMF and EC of over EUR 2 bln. The gold reserve remained at 103.7 tons, its value growing to EUR 3.522 bln from EUR 3.223 bln in October in the context of the evolution of international prices.
