Don Hahn’s documentary “Hand Held” premieres in charity gala

This weekend, the Auditorium Hall of the National Art Museum will host a gala premiere of acclaimed Hollywood producer Don Hahn’s documentary. “Hand Held” is the story of Mike Carroll, one of the first photographers to travel to Romania after the fall of Communism in 1989, whose incredible photographs and heartwarming stories of the children in orphanages ran in the Boston Globe and New York Times and opened the eyes of the western world to the troubles of Romanian orphans.

The event will bring together both producer and director Don Hahn and Mike Carroll, who has fallen in love with Romania and is currently running a charity foundation, Inocenti, providing support services for institutionalized children and families in need.

The event on Saturday will kick off at 5 pm with the documentary screening and will be followed by a reception at 7.30.
