Magnitude 4 tremor in Vrancea

An earthquake measuring magnitude 4 on the Richter scale took place in Romania’s Vrancea region yesterday morning at 4.49 AM. The earthquake had a depth of 110 kilometers and an intensity of 2 degrees on the Mercalli scale at its epicenter, the National Research and Development Institute for Earth Physics announced. According to the aforementioned source, the earthquake was not felt in Bucharest. Gheorghe Marmureanu, director of the Earth Physics Institute, stated by the end of November that earthquakes of medium intensity will take place in the following period.
