The banker: BRD is “The best bank in Romania”

BRD-Groupe Societe General received for the fifth time “The Banker” magazine’s “Bank of the Year in Romania 2010” Award, Agerpres reports quoting a bank release. The award by the prestigious British publication is the third BRD has received from an international publication, after winning the title “Bank of the Year 2010 in Romania” from magazines ‘Euromoney’ and ‘Global Finane’. “Year 2009 was a difficult test for the flexibility and capacity of adjusting to the effects of the crisis, an exercise which yielded very good results. We are glad at the appreciation shown by such reputed publication as ‘The Banker’, a keen observer of the banking and financial markets sector,” said the BRD CEO-President Guy Poupet. BRD – Societe Generale is the second-largest bank in terms of overall assets and has the second-highest capitalization on the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
