Vladimir Voronin lashes against Bucharest

In an interview for Russia’s ‘Moskovskii Komsomolets,’ Vladimir Voronin, leader of the Moldovan Communist Party (PCRM), attacked Romania again and asked Russia to get more actively involved in the Republic of Moldova. “Romanian tanks are already close to Chisinau, all that is left for us to do is throw grenades beneath their tracks. That sums it up for us,” Voronin stated, being quoted by ‘Jurnalul de Chisinau.’ According to Voronin, Romania is betting against communism. “They consider us very dangerous to their interests in the Republic of Moldova. To their interests of union and nationalism,” the PCRM leader added. At the same time he pointed out that Russia bets on nobody and nothing. “Russia cannot be and I don’t think it will be indifferent to what is going on within the Republic of Moldova. Russia undeniably has to be present here even if some people don’t like that,” he continued.
