Rugby: Marian Aldea has died

Former Romanian international Ma­rian Aldea and his wife have died in a car crash on Sunday evening, the Ro­manian Rugby Federation (FRR) in­formed, being quoted by Agerpres. FRR conveyed its condolences to the bereaved family. The car driven by Aldea, a former Dinamo player, fron­ta­lly collided with a lorry. The two were returning home to Cotorca, Ialo­mi­ta County. Marian Aldea (58) was one of Roma­nia’s great rugby players and took part in several important in­ternational games, the most significant of which was the 1980 game that Ro­mania won against France, score 15-0.
