AmCham recommends coherent measures to boost economic competitiveness

The American Chamber of Commerce in Romania (AmCham Romania) emphasized the current negotiations for the next EU Financial Perspective 2014-2020 and the need for Romania to have a related official position, given the significant impact of the key principles under negotiation on the country’s financial package, a press release informs. The major stake for Romania is not only the position of net beneficiary in relation with the EU budget but also to participate in the definition of the priorities for the EU budget allocations. AmCham called also for coherent efforts to strengthen Romania’s competitiveness in the region and at the EU level, and reiterated the acute need for structural reforms in areas such as labour and fiscal systems, central elements for both Romania’s economic recovery and its increased attractiveness for foreign investments. AmCham’s priorities for the fiscal reform include the modernisation of the fiscal legislation and of the fiscal administration.
