EnergoNuclear, the company that will construct reactors 3 and 4 of the Cernavoda Nuclear Power Plant, received Monday green light from the European Commission to start the investment, Nuclearelectrica CEO Pompiliu Budulan told Mediafax. The constructions of the two generators with a cumulated capacity of 1,400 MW will double the nominal power of the Cernavoda NPP, which is run by state company Nuclearelectrica. Romanian authorities have evaluated the investment at EUR 4 bln. EnergoNuclear is controlled by Nuclearelectrica, which holds a 51 pc stake in the company.
