Dacia Duster – Car of the Year 2010 in Romania

The Romanian Auto Press Association yesterday gave the Car of the Year 2010 in Romania” award to Dacia Duster sports utility vehicle, according to a press release. Dacia Duster finished bottom in the November finals of the European Car of the Year 2011 competition award, behind Nissan Leaf, Alfa Romeo Giulietta, Opel Meriva, Ford C-Max, Citroen C3/DS3 and Volvo S60/V60. Dacia Duster was picked into the final stage of the European award out of 41 candidate car models.

On the other hand, local auto manufacturer Dacia is preparing new models for 2012, Realitatea.net informs. Thus, the new models consist of a minivan, a utility vehicle and a small-size urban car mostly geared for Western European markets. “These new models will usher in a new stage in terms of design, and their prices will be as low as ever,” Alain Launay, director of the design centre that Renault opened two years ago in Bucharest, stated.
