“Litoral” Association launches “Seniors at the Seaside” programme

Persons aged 55 and older benefit from discount lodging rates at seaside hotels during out-of-season period, following similar programmes in Spain and Cyprus, Corina Martin, president of the National Association of Travel Agencies in Romania (ANAT) and the Litoral – Delta Dunarii (Seaside – Danube Delta) Association, Mediafax reports. She however added that unlike the Spanish counterpart, the Romanian programme does not grant subsidies. We nonetheless ask MDRT (Ministry of Regional Development and Tourism) to promote and back the programmes “Litoralul pentru Toti” (Seaside for All) and “Seniori pe Litoral” (Seniors at the Seaside), in order to attract as many Romanian and foreign tourists as possible to the Romanian seaside in 2011,” Martin also said. Tariffs charged under the “Seniors at the Seaside’ programme will be 10-15 per cent lower than those for the programme “Seaside for All”.

In her turn, MDRT Minister Elena Udrea said Friday that she buys holiday packages online and believes the future belongs to online tour operators.
