Ukraine reviews Romania policy

KIEV – Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych demanded the Foreign Ministry to come up with a strategy for ties with Romania and the Republic of Moldova, according to daily ‘Adevarul.’ Yanukovych demanded a programme of comprehensive measures to counter threats to Ukraine’s national security and of the country’s priorities in foreign policy until 2015. The Foreign Ministry will also present measures to consolidate Ukraine’s position in negotiations for solving the Transdniester conflict and to step up dialogue with partners involved in these negotiations. In the country’s previous national security strategy, Romania was listed under the ‘main threats’ chapter, the newspaper said.
