Vienna trams’ bodies built at RATB plant

Vienna trams will have their bodies built at the RATB plant after the latter signed a contract with Siemens Austria, one of the world’s largest producers and suppliers of transportation technology. The first tram will be delivered in the summer of 2011, with the parties agreeing to extend the contract, the Bucharest Autonomous Transport Administration (RATB) pointed out in a press release. 60 trams will be delivered in the future. Ever since taking office the Administration’s leadership started talks in order for the plant to execute foreign orders too, considering that it has approximately 1,200 employees, the aforementioned source pointed out.
