League II games under official UEFA investigation

Mircea Sandu announced on Tuesday that UEFA is investigating two League II games. “I have a problem with sporting bets. There is a high risk and that means jail. You should know that two League II games are currently investigated by us and by UEFA; a game that took place last year and one this year,” Sandu said during a reunion organized by the Amateur and Non-amateur Footballers’ Association, ‘Gandul’ reports.
On the other hand, Sandu expressed his concern with the future of several clubs and with the fate of their players. “We are a state that has gotten close to bankruptcy and football, a part of this society, is faring increasingly difficult. I can give you an advice and if the clubs are still not paying you for months on end maybe you should think about renegotiating with your lawyer by your side. You can renegotiate your contract for a determined period, for a year or for as long as Romania is forecast to be in the grip of the crisis. You can accept to have your salary cut because if the clubs can no longer play in the championship because of their debts you could be fired. You have to be very careful,” Sandu warned.
