The Ministry of Economy, Commerce and Business Environment (MECMA) will propose the Public Finance Ministry (MFP) to supplement its budget for 2011 with the sum of RON 256,000 that will allow the National Pit Coal Company (CNH) to solve the social problems generated by the closure of several mines, Economy Minister Ion Ariton announced yesterday, while presenting the ministry’s budget to the pertinent Committees of the Parliament, Mediafax reports. The Council of Ministers adopted a proposal made by Romania, Germany and Spain, to allow member states to provide state aid for the professional reconversion of the personnel of closed mines, with the deadline for closing the mines being postponed to 2018, reads a press release issued by MECMA.
