Elena Udrea inaugurates project after project

Regional Development and Toirism Minister Elena Udrea inaugurated on Friday in Praid a balneary centre worth EUR 3 M, Agerpres informs. The Ministry covered 90 per cent of the investment from its own funds, with the local mayoralty covering the rest.

Elena Udrea underlined that this investment is not singular, with two traditional baths and a ski track set to be inaugurated in Sugas Bai on Friday evening and Saturday.

Thus, also on Friday, Udrea inaugurated the ‘Hope’ ski track in Borsec resort. The investment stood at RON 7.7 M, RON 7.4 M of which was earmarked by the Tourism Ministry. Moreover, while in Borsec, Udrea also signed the financing contract for the project dubbed “The renewal of balneary traditions; promoting tourism and balneary resources and assets in the Borsec region.” The project’s value surpasses RON 720,000.
On the other hand, the Development Minister signed on Friday in Campulung Moldovenes two projects worth EUR 5.3 M, with the Regional Operational Programme set to cover their costs. One of the projects consists of modernizing 10 kilometers of roads, sidewalks and green areas in Campulung Moldovenesc. The second consists of placing CCTV cameras in order to enhance city safety. Udrea added that next year she will earmark funds for the construction of a wellness centre in Covasna. The centre will be built on approximately 6 hectares, with the local authorities having placed the plot of land at the Ministry’s disposal.

Nevertheless, Udrea is dissatisfied with the rhythm of implementing financing projects through the Regional Operational Programme since payments have started for only 12 per cent of the total contracted projects.
