GFR takes over Rompetrol’s railway transport activities

The Romanian Railway Group (GFR), a member of the Grampet Group, won the bid to take over the activity of the rolling stock fleet used by Rompetrol Logistics (RPL), along with RPL’s approximately 350 employees involved in railway transport and shunting activities, a press release informs. The auction went on for almost a year and the bidders included railway operators from Romania and from abroad. Following the take-over by GFR, the RPL employees will benefit from the same conditions and rights, as their employment contract will remain unchanged. At the same time, the take-over of Rompetrol group’s railway transport activities will have a positive impact on the activity of Grampet operators in Bulgaria and Hungary, is further stated in the aforementioned document. The railway transport services’ contracts that GFR signed with the Rompetrol group are valid for three years and may be extended by another two years.
