This decision – definitive and irrevocable – confirms the validity of the original urbanism certificate issued to Rosia Montana Gold Corporation (RMGC). “Following these successes in court and the recent recommencement of the review of the Environmental Impact Assessment Report of the Rosia Montana Mining Project, we are confident that this thorough evaluation will confirm that the RMP is designed to conform to the highest standards of international best practice in mining. Both technically as well as from a community development point of view, the RMP will be a model mine which future mining projects will follow” said Dragos Tanase, RMGC Managing Director commented: The mining project in Rosia Montana will bring 4 billion USD into the Romanian economy. In addition, according to recent estimates from Oxford Policy Management, the total potential impact on GDP, including its multiplier effect, could reach as much as 19 billion USD. The project is expected to generate thousands of jobs while observing all Romanian and European environmental laws. At the same time, the project will also help preserve important historical buildings and local patrimony.
