A KLM plane flying from Singapore to Amsterdam made an emergency landing at the Bucharest Henri Coanda (Otopeni), as a Singapore pregnant woman aboard the 300 passenger plane had fallen unconscious. After the plane landed, she was taken by ambulance to the Elias Hospital where, according to Prof. Radu Vladareanu, the Head of the Obstetrics-Gynaecology Department, she underwent surgery for broken extra-uterine pregnancy. “She was brought in Tuesday morning at 8.00, with a massive haemorrhage and a haemoglobin concentration of 3g/dl, we operated on her and she’s stabilized now. She will stay in hospital for three days, as she is very anaemic,” Prof. Vladareanu told Agerpres. The Singapore woman, who was travelling along with her husband, fell ill, passed out and, two hours later, the decision was reached for the plane to make an emergency landing at the Otopeni airport. The plane took off for Amsterdam at 8.45.
