Famous directors in Bulandra Theatre’s premiere schedule

The world-famous directors Yuriy Kordonskiy and Andrei Serban will come back to the Bulandra Theatre, at the beginning of 2011. The director of the Bulandra Theatre, Alexandru Darie, will also present a play he directed himself, “Notes from the Underground”, based on Fyodor Dostoevsky, on February 20. The cast of the production includes Tamara Buciuceanu, Virgil Ogasanu and Mihai Constantin. The stage setting is signed by Maria Miu. The play “Bury Me behind the Baseboard”, based on Pavel Sanaev’s homonymous novella and starring Mariana Mihut and Marian Ralea, will premiere, most likely, on January 15. The production is directed by Yuriy Kordonskiy, while the stage setting is signed by Nina Bru­mu­sila. Last, but not least, “Iva­nov”, based on A.P. Chekhov and directed by Andrei Serban, will premiere on January 30, with a cast including Vlad Ivanov and Victor Rebengiuc. The costumes are signed by Carmencita Brojboiu.
The Ukrainian director Yuriy Kordonskiy also put up, at Bulandra, the productions “Uncle Vanya” (2001), by Che­khov, “The Marriage” (2003), based on Gogol, and “Crime and Punishment” (2006), an adaptation of Dos­to­evsky’s novel. Andrei Serban directed, two years ago, a production of “Lear”, with an all-female cast.
