Politehnica Cluj wins Karate world title

Cluj’s Politehnica sports club climbed the podium twice at the World Karate Championship for Clubs, a tournament that took place in Italy’s Brescia on December 18-19. Thus, the club won the Kumite Shobu Sanbon section and finished on second place in the Kumite Shobu Ippon section. Romanian WKC Karate Federation President Liviu Crisan stated for Agerpres: “Politehnica took part in the tournament with 16 athletes and won the ultimate title in one of the sections, against the backdrop in which the other clubs had far more numerous delegations. Romania clearly won first place at the end of all events.” 1,380 athletes from 132 clubs took part in the World Karate Championship for Clubs in Brescia.
