The (in)famous leaf for which Elena Udrea paid EUR 900,000 to use as a logo in Romania’s tourism brand is also used by the Slovenian Post. The symbol can be seen on all the cars which transport stamps, letters or other products of the Slovenian institution, “Jurnalul National” reports. Nonetheless, the Slovenian Post is not the first company which uses the famous leaf to promote its image. A shopping centre in Slovenia also has, as a logo, the “green leaf” in Romania’s brand for tourism.Romania’s tourism brand was launched last summer in Shanghai, in the presence of the ministers Elena Udrea and Teodor Baconschi and former athletes Nadia Comaneci, Ilie Nastase and Gheorghe Hagi. The brand contains the slogan “Explore the Carpathian garden” and a graphical element representing a leaf. The logo stirred controversy in the Romanian press after it emerged it was strikingly similar to the logo of a British transport company.
