The short feature film “Muzica in sange” (Music in the Blood), directed by Alexandru Mavrodineanu, a runner-up in the “Short is good” section of the Festival on Wheels in Turkey, won the Public’s Choice Award, worth EUR 1,000. This is the second prize won by a Romanian production at the Festival on Wheels, after the Golden Bull trophy claimed, last year, by “Politist adjectiv” (Police, An Adjective), by Corneliu Porumboiu. This year the grand trophy went to the Belgian film “Illegal”, by Olivier Masset-Depasse. The 16th edition of the Festival on Wheels European film festival took place between December 3 and 19 in three cities in Turkey – Ankara, Artvin and Ordu. Organized since 1995 by the Ankara Cinematography Association and a member of the European Coordination of Film Festivals, the manifestation has been meant, since its first edition, as a means to present European and Turkish films to film-lovers in various cities in Turkey and elsewhere. In the past 15 years, the festival visited Ankara, Baku (Azerbaijan), Bursa, Çanakkale, Diyarbakir, Drama (Greece), Eskisehir, Gaziantep, Istanbul, Izmir, Kars, Kayseri, Malatya, Mersin, Samsun, Sarajevo (Bosnia-Herzegovina), Tbilisi (Georgia), Van, Skopje (Macedonia). The short feature film “Muzica in sange”, by Alexandru Mavrodineanu, was produced by Strada Film with the support of the National Cinematography Centre (CNC), in partnership with Premium Films and Les Films Promenades (France).
