Businessman taken to hospital after falling sick in court

Businessman Catalin Chelu was taken to hospital Tuesday morning after falling sick during the trial session examining his detention release application, according to news channel Antena 3. Chelu was arrested Dec. 14 on charge of attempting to give bribe to Questor Dan Valentin Fatuloiu, a former interior state secretary. Chelu was put on trial along with three other persons. He challenged in the Court of Appeals the Bucharest tribunal ruling that he be tried while under arrest. Chelu is charged with giving bribe and influence peddling.
