Ford and Mazda initiate recalls in Romania

Ford Romania has recalled over 20 Transit Connect utility vehicles in order to install a fuse on the engine block’s box, each operation set to last under 20 minutes, HotNews informs. The fuse should have been installed during the production process. Without the fuse a warning light may appear or the diesel particle filter may be damaged. The vehicles’ owners have been notified.

Mazda has initiated three recalls too, the most important of which concerns 220 vehicles that have to be tested for possible power steering problems. Mazda has recalled 214 Mazda 3s and seven Mazda 5s produced from April 2007 to October 2008 and equipped with hydraulic power steering. In certain conditions some vehicles may completely or partially lose their power steering. The recall started in the last ten days of November. The dealers will check and, if need be, replace the power steering pump’s pumping kit and the high-pressure ducts. The operation takes 90 minutes at most.
