Gov’t seeks over RON 1 bln from BNR in 2011

Economic analysts estimate that the state budget for 2011 will reveal a significant increase of net payments made by the National Bank of Romania (BNR), up to RON 1.035 bln, RON 135 M more than the preliminary budget execution of November 2010, Money.ro reports.

Under Law 312/2004 that regulates the statute of BNR, after covering the expenses, losses and provisions, 80 pc of the Central Bank’s net incomes are paid to the state budget. If, by October 2010, the money provided by BNR were booked as payments from the net profit of public corporations and companies, now they have been moved to a distinct account. A sum of RON 350 M has been paid to this account over the last two months of 2009, with the total net income paid by BNR to the state budget reaching RON 1.42 bln in 2009 and in the first month of 2010.
