The president Traian Basescu was voted the most appreciated Romanian politician in the past ten years, followed by the former president Ion Iliescu and the former premier Adrian Nastase, according to a poll conducted by Ziare.com, released on Sunday and quoted by Agerpres.
According to the poll, Basescu was voted by 39.73 per cent of the respondents, followed by Iliescu, who received 19.79 per cent of the votes, and Nastase – 11.52 per cent. Former PM Calin Popescu Tariceanu ranks fourth, voted by 9.87 per cent of the respondents, the Liberal leader Crin Antonescu ranks fifth – with 8.37 per cent of the votes -, while the sixth position is claimed by the leader of the Greater Romania Party (PRM), Corneliu Vadim Tudor, with 4.79 per cent of the votes.
