Railway accident leaves four dead

Four persons – two men and two women – lost their lives in a grave railway accident in the area of Mascateni, Albesti commune, last week, hit sideways by the passenger train Iasi-Dorohoi. According to Commissar Dumitru Zmau, head of the Traffic Police Dept., the accident was due to the driver’s failed bid to cross a railway crossing ahead of an incoming train, which resulted in the latter hitting the car and killing the driver and the three passengers in the car on the spot, having dragged the vehicle nearly 350 metres along the track.
