BCR – EUR half a billion loans for the ‘First House’ programme

As part of the ‘First House’ 1 & 2 programmes, Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR) provided credits worth over EUR 517 M, the bank announces in a press release. The sum represents more than one third of the total loans provided by banks within the programme. According to Stefan Coroianu, Executive Director of BCR’s Retail Loans Division, more than 12,600 families purchased their first house with loans extended by BCR.

Out of these, most ‘First House’ loans were provided in Bucharest – almost 4,000 credits worth an approximate EUR 196 M, followed by Transylvania – over 2,700 loans worth about EUR 100 M, and Banat-Crisana – over 1,500 credits worth nearly EUR 58 M.

A number of BCR retail units provided ‘First House’ financing equivalent to an average-sized residential complex, each. The BCR units located in the counties of Sibiu, Iasi, Dolj or the units of the Timis County granted through the ‘First House’ programme over 500 loans per county, with total financing volumes between 19 and 32 million EUR. The record is held by the units of the Cluj County, which extended almost 900 loans, worth more than EUR 32 M in total. As part of the second phase of the ‘First House 2’ programme, the average value of a credit provided by BCR exceeded EUR 40,000, while almost 800 credits were provided at the maximum value allowed by the law for the programme – EUR 57,000 M.
