Over 2,500 properties repossessed by banks in 2010

The crisis has evicted Romanians who borrowed from banks to buy homes and who cannot repay their loans. Many properties have been repossessed by banks who wanted to recover their money. ‘While in 2009 there were counties with no reported repossession, such as Dolj, Dambovita or Ialomita, in 2010 the number of repossessions in the same counties amounted to a few dozens. Overall, in 2010 compared to 2009, the number of repossessions at least doubled’, ANCPI spokesman Adrian Nica said, according to Realitatea.net.
