Professor, journalist Dumitru Titus Popa dies

Professor, journalist and poet Dumitru Titus Popa died after a long illness on Tuesday night at the age of 70. Born in 1940, Univ. Prof Dr. Dumitru Titus Popa dean of the “Hyperion” University, held over time several major public dignities, including those of ministry state secretary and director-general of Romanian Public Television. He also published communications law books and studies as well as academic writings on journalism ethics and deontology, being a professor held in great esteem by his students and university teaching staff. A member of the Union of Professional Journalists and of the Writers Guild of Romania, Dumitru Titus Popa published literary studies and essays, as well as poetry volumes well received by critics, his name being included in literary history volumes and encyclopaedias.
