US navy commander sacked over raunchy videos

The US navy has sacked the captain of a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier for making videos containing foul language, sexual innuendo and anti-gay slurs and showing them to the crew of the ship. Captain Owen Honors, who made the videos while serving as Executive Officer aboard the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise in 2006 and 2007, was fired by US Fleet Forces Commander Navy Adm John C Harvey Jr. on Tuesday, Indianexpress reports. “The responsibility of the Commanding Officer for his or her command is absolute,” Harvey told reporters in Norfolk, Virginia, while announcing his decision to sack Honors. Honors had served as commander of the USS Enterprise for about seven months when he was relieved.
