Bus thief stopped with gunshots

Arges County police officers fired 11 shots early Thursday morning in order to apprehend a man that stole a bus and broke through two roadblocks.

Constantin Lixandru (40) from Topoloveni stole the bus in Pitesti. The man was under influence and had no driver’s license. According to police officers, the first roadblock was set up in Bradu locality but the thief drove through. Police units went in pursuit and a second roadblock was set up in Albota commune. Police officers fired 11 shots but were still unable to stop the man. The thief was eventually blocked in Lunca Corbului commune, close to the administrative border with Olt County.
