Continental may invest EUR 220 M in Romania

Continental AG, Europe’s second- biggest car-parts maker, wants to invest EUR 220 million in Romania in the next two years, according to Money.ro. Continental plans to use the money to develop production in the western city of Timisoara and started in middle of 2010 a first investment of EUR 50 million. The car- parts maker plans to hire 200 people for the Timisoara unit. Continental sells tires for automobiles, motorcycles, and bicycles worldwide under the Continental brand. It also produces and commercializes other brands on a regional level, such as General, Euzkadi, or Barum.
