Heating malfunction prevents Iliescu from celebrating his name day at work

The PSD honourary president, Ion Iliescu announced on his blog that, this year, he will celebrate his name day at home. Unlike the previous years, he is unable to welcome guests at his office, located at No. 11 on Atena Street, because the heating does not work in the building. The former president celebrates his patron saint today – the feast of Saint John the Baptist.

“This year, I cannot be at the office, because of heating problems,” Iliescu wrote on his blog, without elaborating. A source of his entourage confirmed there are problems with the heating equipment of the building. In the past years, the honourary president of PSD, Ion Iliescu used to celebrate both his birthday and name day at his office at 11, Atena Street. On these occasions, hundreds of PSD members and fans came to congratulate him and give him presents – most of them bringing red roses and books.
