40 injured on slopes in Sinaia, Busteni and Azuga

40 people have suffered accidents in the past two days on slopes in Sinaia, Busteni and Azuga. One of the incidents resulted in the severe injuring of a tourist, who broke three ribs and fractured his spine, after crashing his sleigh in a tree. The accident took place on the Kalinderu slope in Busteni. The tourist lost control of the sleigh, left the area surrounded by protection nets and warning signs and hurtled against a tree. The man was taken by the Rescue Squad and transported to the medical unit at the foot of the slope. The injured man was transported, then, to the Emergency County Hospital in Ploiesti. Only a quarter of an hour later, a skier bumped against another young man on skies, whom he pushed into a tree.

According to the rescue team, the high number of accidents may double by peak season and advise tourists to be cautious when practicing winter sports.
