Owners of cameras not eligible for social benefit

The Labour Ministry put up for public debate the methodological norms for the application of Law no. 416/ 2001, regarding the guaranteed minimum income, HotNews.ro reports. Thus, families and individuals who own electronic equipment, art objects, a knitting machine or various pieces of machinery are not eligible for social benefit. The methodological norms also stipulate that persons who collect social benefit and are employed based on an individual labour contract, have public servant status or perform an activity for which receive wages should benefit from a 15 per cent raise of the benefit. The raise is applicable only once, irrespective of the number of family members who work based on an individual labour contract, act as public servants or perform an activity for which they receive wages. “With a view to solving applications for social benefits, the mayor will necessarily call for a social inquiry at the applicant’s residence, to check whether the situation reported in the attached documents corresponds to fact,” the norms stipulate.
