DHL Romania inaugurates operating terminal in Cluj

The postal services operator DHL International Romania, a member of the German group Deutsche Post, inaugurated, in Cluj, a new operating terminal and a cargo aircraft, which will cater to the Western half of the country, the company announced, yesterday, in a press release. DHL did not disclose the cost of the investment.

The new SAAB SF 340 plane which has been operating in Cluj since mid-December will ensure a daily connection with the DHL global network, joining over 220 countries and regions, 120,000 destinations, 6,500 offices and 300,000 employees. The Cluj terminal is the company’s third and, alongside the units in Bucharest and Arad, it will enhance its capacity to take orders from towns and townships in counties Cluj, Satu Mare, Mures, Sibiu and Bistrita. Furthermore, DHL clients will benefit from a same-day delivery for more than 90 per cent of the imports heading to this part of the country. The company has over 450 employees in Romania, its own network of 25 expedition and operating centres in 23 major cities in the country and a fleet of over 250 vehicles.
