Romanian worker dies in Sicily factory explosion

A Romanian worker was killed in an explosion at a fireworks factory in Sicily, Italy. According to La Repubblica, one Italian also died and one was badly hurt. Local media reports that the Romanian was 45 years old but do not disclose his identity. The injured victim is the son of the owner of the factory situated on the outskirts of the locality of Santa Venerina. The young man was taken to a Catania hospital and he is in critical condition. The explosion followed by fire occurred yesterday at about 09:30 local time while the workers were getting ready to prepare an explosive mixture in one of the warehouses. Firemen, police and carabineers teams arrived to the scene shortly after the accident.
