Romanian inmate burns to death in Argentina prison

Radu Pintilie (26), a native of Scanteia, Iasi County, died in the prison of Santa Rosa, Argentina, where he was serving a sentence for drug trafficking. His mother was told by Romanian officials in Buenos Aires that her son was almost incinerated, with burns on more than 80 pc of his body, when his mattress caught fire. The woman rejects the official explanation, especially as the young man was not smoking, and she is convinced he was murdered.
