Border treaty approved by Gov’t

The Romanian-Moldovan border treaty that sets the delimitation principles along river borders has been approved on Wednesday by the government through a draft law that will be filed to Parliament for emergency debate at the start of the new session. The border treaty was signed in November in Bucharest by Foreign Affairs Minister Teodor Baconschi and Moldovan Premier Vlad Filat.

The Romanian-Moldovan border treaty, having a technical nature, contains the principles of establishing the frontier on river borders, at the same time pointing out that the junction of the two states’ border with their border with Ukraine will be established through a separate trilateral agreement.
