Murder weapon found in Cernavoda homicide case

A police investigation team had been rummaging through the city’s dumping site for a week before they found one of the two kitchen knives alleged to have been the weapon used in the deadly stabbing of the Garoafa family. Meanwhile, Bogdan Mitu, the man who drowned his wife in the Danube Jan. 3, is nowhere to be found.

Authorities, using boats and divers, resumed Wednesday their search of the Danube – Black Sea Channel. Bogdan Mitu’s best friend, Gheorghe Deli-Iorga, acknowledged to have murdered Mitu’s parents, the Garoafas, although he stated his original intention had only been to talk to them after their daughter, Gabriela Mitu, quarrelled with her husband.
