Prominent Iasi doctor/MP faces disciplinary probe

The board of the Iasi Emergency Hospital announced, on Wednesday, it would initiate a disciplinary probe in the case of the doctor Tudor Ciuhodaru, the head of the hospital’s Emergency Reception Unit (UPU), accused of having addressed injurious words to a paramedic from SMURD, Mediafax reports. According to the manager of the Iasi Emergency Hospital, Vladimir Poroch, the board of SMURD Iasi forwarded a complaint to the hospital’s board, calling on it to take disciplinary measures in the case of the doctor Tudor Ciuhodaru, accused of having addressed injurious remarks to a SMURD paramedic, who had delivered a patient to the Emergency ward.


According to the address sent to the Iasi hospital, the paramedic Alina Scutariu, from SMURD Harlau’s First Aid Squad (EPA), was delivering a patient to the Emergency Hospital’s UPU, and the doctor Tudor Ciuhodaru kept the ambulance, with the patient inside, waiting for over an hour. Furthermore, the paramedic claims she was summoned by the doctor Tudor Ciuhodaru, who told her: “Do you know what you, EPA, are? Extreme Pea-brained Asses.”


The manager of the Iasi Emergency Hospital, Vladimir Poroch, stated that he had asked for an official explanation and a disciplinary probe was initiated in the case of the doctor.


In turn, Dr. Ciuhodaru stated he had only made a recommendation and denied having offended the SMURD paramedic. “The case was poorly managed and I just suggested a better way of managing it. The ambulance was not kept waiting, there are timesheets that can attest it,” the doctor stated.The Iasi Emergency Hospital board decided, yesterday, to release from the office of spokesman Dr. Tudor Ciuhodaru, who recently joined the Conservative Party.
