Fog still hampers traffic, flights

24 flights were delayed (13 inbound, 11 outbound) on Timisoara Airport, Realitatea TV informs. Four planes eventually took off toward Munich, Vienna and Bucharest while the 13 inbound flights were cancelled. Those were flights from Spain, Italy, Germany and Ukraine. The flight from Madrid that should have landed at 00.10 reported the largest delay. The flight’s 144 passengers eventually landed in Budapest and were to be taken to Timisoara by motor coaches. A flight coming from Chisinau landed in Arad. 11 flights that should have left for Athens, Turin, Florence, Ancona, Düsseldorf and Bucharest were cancelled.

Silver thaw hampered road traffic in Neamt County, while fog hampered road traffic in Buzau and Braila Counties, the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police’s ‘Infotrafic’ Centre informed, being quoted by Agerpres.

In Neamt County silver thaw hampered traffic on National Road 15D Roman – Piatra Neamt. A lorry that skidded, blocking both lanes, interrupted traffic in the Girov area for approximately 15 minutes until 7.35 AM. There were no victims.

Traffic police in Buzau and Braila Counties informed that road traffic is hampered by fog on National Road 2B Buzau – Braila and National Road 2 (European Road 85) in Buzau County and European Road 584 Braila – Baraganu in Braila County. Traffic police advises drivers to drive at low speeds, to maintain a safe distance between vehicles and to avoid making sudden moves. At the same time, when visibility falls significantly they are advised to use fog lights.
