Mioara Roman started the year deep in debt. The former prime-minister Petre Roman’s ex-wife owes over EUR 100,000 to the Autonomous Direction for the Administration of State Patrimony and Protocol (RA-APPS). The sum represents defaulting rent since November 2008, for the house in Primaverii in which she lives. Mioara Roman used to pay a RON 2,000-rent on this home. In November 2008, RA-APPS decided to hike this at EUR 6,000. From that date onwards, Mioara Roman refused to pay. The matter was eventually taken to court. Now, Petre Roman’s ex-wife owes over EUR 100,000 to the state. If she loses the suit with RA-APPS, she will have to move out of the house and to pay the defaulting rent, Antena 3 reports.
