The Austrian furniture retailer kika will start, this spring, in Constanta, the building of its second shop in Romania, in which it will invest EUR 30-35 M, and is seeking space to set up another unit in Bucharest, Mediafax reports. According to Lars Lund, the head of kika Romania, the shop in Constanta will open for business as of next year. As regards estimates for 2011, the representative of kika Romania, stated there is hope of a growth, but added that, at the moment, the company’s budget is still being drafted. “The furniture market will continue to rise slightly this year. During the recession, people spent more time at home and found a pleasant setting is desirable. The moment consumers have more resources to spare, sales will certainly rise,” Lund argued. He added that it was crucial, at this time, that the authorities should refrain from taking reckless measures, which would stir panic on the market.
